Job Duties

Job Purpose

Claremont University Consortium (CUC) is the central support organization for The Claremont Colleges (TCC), a highly regarded group of seven independent colleges located in Southern California. As an intern in the Business Affairs and Risk Management Offices, you will gain exposure to legal, financial and service-oriented functions. This broadly includes dealing with sensitive and confidential internal information requiring a successful candidate to exhibit exceptional business ethics and sensible decision-making.
The start/end date is flexible based on school schedule.

Essential Functions

The incumbent performs these essential duties and responsibilities:
Provide support to Business Affairs and Risk Management. Receives applications for authorized drivers, runs motor vehicle reports and provide follow up to approve new drivers. Assist with management of certificates of insurance. Maintains contract database and processes invoices for payment. Provides support for ad hoc business projects as assigned.

Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
Successful candidate will have a flexible approach to problem solving, willing to work in a team-orientated environment and eager to learn and/or apply legal, financial and accounting best practices.

Competencies required:
MS Office product knowledge (notably Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, required
Other required knowledge, skills, or competencies: Intermediate Excel proficiency preferred.

Work Schedule

The hours for this part time temporary position are approximately 10 hours per week. Schedule is flexible based on class schedule.
