Job Duties

Job Purpose

Under general direction maintain and repair fleet of vehicles that serve Central Facilities Services and The Claremont Colleges.

Essential Functions

Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of gasoline, diesel and electric vehicles. Maintain inventory of stock parts for repair and maintenance of vehicles. Maintain computerized records for vehicle maintenance. Follow up on recall notices. Perform preventative maintenance and repair of stationary generators. Assist with the administration of DMV and insurance requirements.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years working in the automative or mechanical repair industry.

Ability to trouble shoot complex mechanical and mechanical problems.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and computer equipment.
Possess communication skills including general ability to speak, read, comprehend and write the English language.
Possess ability to climb ladders, crawl in attics and under buildings, lift and carry heavy equipment, bend, stoop, work from heights, and work in uncomfortable positions.
Be physically capable of working under all weather conditions.
Be available for overtime work and to be on call.
Be capable of wearing protective clothing and equipment as required by the tasks being performed.
Be able to work in a safe manner and comply with all applicable OSHA and CALOSHA rules.
Neat and professional appearance and be capable of performing all tasks and presenting one’s self in a manner that reflects well on CFS and CUC, and of promoting the interests of these organizations throughout The Claremont Colleges.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under The Claremont Colleges insurance.
